The Everyday Foot & Ankle
This is a great day of updating your clinical knowledge and skils in relation to common foot and ankle conditions.
Leading off with a ‘Voyage Around Your Ankle’ – where Asst. Prof. Craig Allingham escorts you on a cirumnavigation of the ankle localising and identifying structures of clinical significance. Just this review is worth the price of admission!
We then move on to static and dynamic evaluation of the foot and ankle with particular reference to posture and control of pronation during gait. Tibialis posterior comes in for special attention and is revisited frequently during the day as it’s importance becomes apparent.
Craig then looks at a range of common (everyday) problems and how best to manage them. This includes
- Sprained ankles – too easy or too bad?
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Neural entrapment
- Post injury mobilisations for the stiff ankle
- Tendo Achilles – structure, function and treatment
- Tibialis Posterior Dysfunction (told you so)
- The role of orthotic support
- Hallux Limitus & Rigidus
- Taping, Taping and more Taping
- Exercises, Exercises and more Exercises
Craig is fascinated by the foot since his university days and is able to distil it’s complexity into an understandable and logical summary to help you better manage it in clinical practice.
The course fee covers a workbook, tuition and refreshments (exc. lunch).
